Matrimonial Bed Setting known also known as 安床is an auspicious ceremony for the newly wed to be blessed with children after their marriage.
Suggestion: A lady with good fortune will change the new bed linen (red in color), place the tray of auspicious items on the bed [(Dried Red Dates - 红枣 (早), Peanuts - 花生 (生), Dried Longans - 桂圆 (贵), Lotus seeds - 莲子(子), Bulbs Lily - 百合 (百年好合), even number of oranges - 柑子 (大吉大利)] and turn on the bedside lamp known as 点灯 which has similar pronounciation as 添丁.Thereafter, no one should lie or rest on the bed except the bride and bridegroom on the big day itself.Some eldely believed that a young boy should lie and roll or sleep overnight on the newly set bed.
